Strategic pillar 1
DUKRA invest is a German-Ukrainian company with a long-standing operational presence in Ukraine and a deep understanding of local markets, structures and value chains. Based on our activities in agriculture and agribusiness, we recognized early on the potential that lies in combining local raw materials, industrial scaling and sustainable solutions for the future. As part of DUKRA Construction, we are involved as a strategic and industrial implementation partner in the development of sustainable building materials production in Ukraine. We contribute our experience in project development, investment structuring and market access and play an active role in setting up local production and organizational structures.
The core of this project phase is the industrial implementation of ecoHAB®, an innovative, sustainable construction system based on renewable raw materials and agricultural surpluses. The technology has been scientifically developed over many years and is based on natural fiber cover layers – such as hemp or flax – in combination with a core of popped corn granulate. The global patents are held by the University of Göttingen, the material and process optimization is supported by Fraunhofer IWM, while the commercial usage rights are held by Smarter Habitat.
DUKRA invest holds the master license for the Ukrainian market and is responsible for planning the entire production cycle and setting up a local team and partner network.
ecoHAB® combines a very good ecological balance with high technical properties. The building material binds CO₂, is resistant to fire, water and mold, offers excellent insulation properties and achieves a high load-bearing capacity with a low dead weight. At the same time, it is fully recyclable and follows a cradle-to-cradle approach. Production is designed for industrial scaling and mainly uses locally available, renewable raw materials – in particular corn and hemp, which are available in large quantities in Ukraine. ecoHAB® thus offers decisive added value for the reconstruction of Ukraine: the material enables the fast, cost-efficient and sustainable construction of living space, modular buildings as well as insulation and construction elements – directly from regional resources. At the same time, local production strengthens agriculture, creates jobs and reduces dependency on imports. DUKRA Construction sees itself as a platform for scaling, partnerships and investments in order to make a measurable contribution to the sustainable reconstruction of the country together with industry partners, investors and players from the construction sector.
Strategic pillar 2
DUKRA Food stands for the transformation of agricultural raw materials into high-quality, scalable food ingredients. The focus of this strategic pillar is the industrial production of popped grain – pure or refined on request, for example with honey, cocoa or other natural ingredients.
Building on the many years of agricultural experience of DUKRA agro and the entrepreneurial expertise of DUKRA invest, an integrated value chain is created – from the company’s own grain cultivation to processing and marketing. State-of-the-art puffing technology from CEREX AG is used, which enables controlled, reproducible and energy-efficient processing. The puffing process preserves the natural structure of the grain, improves texture and functionality and makes the product versatile.DUKRA Food is therefore specifically targeting B2B customers, retail partners and brand manufacturers in the breakfast cereals, snacks, granola and functional foods sectors. The products are suitable for private labels, co-branding models and white label solutions and can be flexibly adapted to different markets and applications.
The aim of this strategic pillar is to create additional added value in Ukraine, serve international sales markets and establish sustainable, competitive food production. We consciously see DUKRA Food as an open platform for partnerships with industry, retailers and brands. In particular, we address companies that want to purchase popped grain in pure or refined form as a reliable raw material and see DUKRA Food as a long-term supply and production partner.
Strategic pillar 3
For DUKRA invest, innovation means systematically transforming technological developments into economically viable and scalable applications for construction, agriculture and industry. We initiate innovations where digital technologies, industrial processes and real value creation interact in a meaningful way.
A central element is the use of digital platforms such as MicroStream. MicroStream is a powerful, Java-native data platform that enables direct work with object structures and simplifies traditional database architectures. This allows complex processes to be mapped efficiently, data to be used in real time and digital applications to be operated faster and with fewer resources – an important basis for modern platform and process solutions.
We are also actively involved in selected technology companies and are shareholders in MicroStream. This commitment underlines our aspiration to not only support innovation, but to help shape it ourselves. In principle, we are open to further innovation projects – both as part of existing investments and for new technological approaches that can be jointly transferred into real applications and viable business models.
MicroStream opens up new possibilities for high-performance, lean system architectures, particularly in the industrial environment. The direct persistence of Java objects eliminates the classic ORM complexity, which reduces development times and makes more efficient use of system resources. Applications remain transparent, maintainable and high-performance – even with data-intensive processes. At the same time, the technology enables flexible deployment models, from on-premise structures to cloud and hybrid environments. This creates a stable, future-proof foundation for scalable digital platforms and business-critical applications.
